American Plumbing Heating & Cooling (“American PHC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website at americanphc.com (the “Site”) and when you contact us or use our plumbing, heating, and air conditioning services, how we use that information, and the choices and rights you have. We are a licensed Florida contractor (License #CAC1821761, #CFC1431919) serving homeowners in Sarasota, Bradenton, Cape Coral, Lakewood Ranch, Venice, Milton, Navarre, and nearby Florida communities.
1. Who we are & what this policy covers
This policy applies to the Site and to information we collect when you call, email, text, submit a form, or otherwise interact with us. Our services are directed to customers and properties in Florida. This policy does not apply to third-party websites or services we link to — for example, a financing lender, the Square checkout used for our maintenance plan, or review platforms — which are governed by their own privacy policies.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to respond to you and provide service. The categories of personal information we may collect are:
- Identifiers & contact information — your name, postal/service address, email address, telephone number(s), and online identifiers such as IP address and device or cookie identifiers.
- Customer records & commercial information — details of the service you request or receive, appointment and communication history, the equipment at your property, quotes and invoices, and whether you have asked about financing or a maintenance plan. We do not collect or store payment-card numbers on the Site; payments are handled by third-party processors under their own security terms.
- Internet & network activity — how you interact with the Site, pages viewed, referring/exit pages, approximate session activity, and similar analytics data collected through cookies and similar technologies (only with your consent — see Cookies, analytics & your choices).
- Approximate geolocation — a general location (such as city or region) inferred from your IP address or the address/city you provide. We do not collect precise GPS location through the Site.
- Professional or employment information — only if you apply for a job through our careers page (for example, the position sought and what you tell us about your experience).
- Inferences — limited inferences drawn from the above (for example, the services you may be interested in) used to serve you better.
Sensitive personal information. We do not seek to collect sensitive personal information (such as Social Security, driver's-license, or financial-account numbers; precise geolocation; or information about health, race, religion, or sexual orientation) through the Site.
3. Where we get your information
- Directly from you — when you submit a form, call, text, or email us; request a quote or service; or apply for a job.
- Automatically — through cookies and similar technologies when you use the Site (see Cookies, analytics & your choices).
- From service providers — such as our website/technology provider, analytics provider, and security/anti-spam provider, acting on our behalf.
4. How we use your information
We use personal information for the following business purposes:
- Respond to your inquiries, requests, quotes, and questions;
- Schedule, perform, support, and follow up on plumbing, heating, and cooling services;
- Send you service-related communications (appointment confirmations, dispatch updates, invoices, and similar transactional messages), including by text if you have opted in;
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and our services;
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, spam, abuse, and security incidents (for example, through Google reCAPTCHA on our forms);
- Measure the performance of our advertising (for example, whether an ad led to a call or form submission);
- With your separate consent, send you promotions or marketing about our services (you can opt out at any time);
- Comply with our legal, tax, licensing, and regulatory obligations, and enforce our agreements.
5. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose personal information only to the following categories of recipients, and only as needed:
- Website & technology provider — CI Web Group, which hosts the Site and operates the form/lead-routing service that delivers your form submissions to us (form data is transmitted to api.ciwebgroup.com and routed to American Plumbing Heating & Cooling).
- Analytics & advertising measurement — Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (site usage, loaded only if you accept analytics cookies) and Google Ads conversion measurement (whether an ad led to a contact). See Cookies, analytics & your choices.
- Security & anti-spam — Google reCAPTCHA protects our forms from abuse; your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service . The Site is also delivered through Cloudflare's content-delivery and security network.
- Communications providers — email and text-messaging (SMS) providers used to send you the service messages you request.
- Payment processors — if you enroll in our maintenance plan, the checkout is hosted by Square, which handles your payment details under its own privacy and security terms. We never see or store your card number.
- Financing partners — if you ask about financing, we may refer you to a third-party lender; any application you submit is governed by that lender's own privacy policy.
- Professional advisors & authorities — accountants, attorneys, insurers, and government or regulatory authorities (such as the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation) where required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfers — a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
Where these recipients act on our behalf, we engage them as service providers and limit their use of personal information to the services they perform for us.
6. Do we sell or share your personal information?
No. American Plumbing Heating & Cooling does not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (i.e., targeted advertising across non-affiliated websites). We use Google Ads conversion measurement only to understand whether our own advertising led to a call or inquiry. We have not sold personal information, and we have not sold or shared the personal information of any consumer we know to be under 16 years of age.
7. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know / access — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of recipients.
- Delete — request that we delete personal information we collected from you.
- Correct — request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Opt out of sale/sharing and targeted advertising — although, as explained above, we do not sell or share your personal information.
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny you services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level or quality of service because you exercised your privacy rights.
These rights include those granted to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA. Whether or not a specific state privacy law technically applies to us, we honor these requests as a matter of policy for all of our customers, including Florida residents.
How to exercise your rights. You (or an authorized agent acting on your behalf) may submit a request by emailing [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy Request,” or by calling us at (941) 735-6616. To protect your information, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding — typically by confirming information we already have on file. We will respond within 45 calendar days; if we need more time, we will tell you. There is no fee unless your request is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded.
8. Text messaging (SMS) terms & consent
By providing your mobile phone number and opting in (for example, by checking the optional SMS consent box on a form on this Site), you expressly consent to receive text messages from or on behalf of American Plumbing Heating & Cooling at that number about your request. Consent is not a condition of purchase of any goods or services.
- Types of messages. Service and transactional messages — appointment confirmations and reminders, dispatch and arrival updates, follow-ups, and replies to your inquiries. We will only send promotional texts if you have separately opted in to receive them.
- Message frequency. Message frequency varies based on your interactions with us.
- Cost. Message and data rates may apply. Check your mobile plan; we are not responsible for charges from your wireless carrier.
- Opt out. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time.
- Help. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at (941) 735-6616 or [email protected].
- Carriers. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Mobile information. No mobile information (including phone numbers collected for SMS) will be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Information may be shared only with the vendors that help us send the messages you have consented to receive.
Text messaging is governed by the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and related rules. By participating, you confirm you are the account holder or have authority to consent for the number provided.
9. Cookies, analytics & your choices
We use cookies and similar technologies on the Site. Our cookie-consent banner lets you accept or decline optional cookies and change your choice at any time through the “Manage preferences” option. We use two categories:
- Strictly necessary cookies — required for security, accessibility, and core Site functionality. These are always on and cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies (optional) — Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) and Google Ads conversion measurement help us understand Site traffic, page performance, and whether our advertising works. These are off unless you accept them: analytics and advertising storage are denied by default and enabled only after you choose “Accept all” (or enable analytics in preferences).
Analytics opt-out. In addition to declining analytics cookies in our banner, you can opt out of Google Analytics across sites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on . You can also manage cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works.
Global Privacy Control (GPC) & Do Not Track (DNT). Some browsers and extensions can send an opt-out-preference signal such as Global Privacy Control. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no such activity to opt out of; if we ever enable such sharing, we will treat a valid GPC signal as a request to opt out for that purpose. There is no common industry standard for responding to “Do Not Track” browser signals, so the Site does not currently respond to them.
10. Children's privacy
The Site is intended for a general, adult audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 in violation of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of minors under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
11. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy — to provide and document service, maintain business and warranty records, resolve disputes, and comply with our legal, tax, and licensing obligations — after which we delete or de-identify it. Retention periods vary by the type of information and the reason we hold it (for example, invoices and service records are typically retained longer to meet accounting and warranty needs).
12. How we protect your information
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration — including HTTPS encryption in transit and restricted access to personal data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Third-party links & services
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, products, or services (for example, equipment manufacturers, review platforms, social media, the Square checkout for our maintenance plan, or a financing lender). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site or service you visit.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and material changes will take effect when posted. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
