Rebates Cover Part of It. Financing Covers the Rest.
Rebates reduce what your project costs; financing changes how you pay for what's left.
Many of our customers combine an instant rebate with a monthly payment plan on approved
credit — and PACE-style property-tax financing exists in Sarasota County as a separate
option worth understanding before you sign anything.

Rebate Questions, Answered Straight
Can I stack rebates from different programs on one project?
Often, yes. A manufacturer instant rebate (like Daikin's) and a utility rebate (like FPL's $200 A/C rebate) come from different parties and can generally apply to the same qualifying installation. When Florida's HEAR program opens, it will have its own rules about combining with other rebates. We'll confirm which combinations apply to your specific equipment and utility before you sign anything.
Do you handle the rebate paperwork and applications?
Instant rebates are handled at the point of sale: the Daikin instant rebate is applied by the participating Comfort Pro dealer when you purchase, and FPL's $200 rebate appears as a credit on the installing contractor's invoice — no forms for you. Tax credits (for qualifying 2025 installs) are claimed on your own tax return with IRS Form 5695. We'll help you identify everything you qualify for at your free estimate and point you to the right official application for anything that isn't instant.
Is there still a federal tax credit for a new AC or heat pump in 2026?
No. The federal 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit ended for equipment placed in service after December 31, 2025, under 2025 federal legislation, and no direct federal replacement exists. If your system was installed by December 31, 2025, you can still claim it on your 2025 tax return. For 2026 projects, savings come from manufacturer, utility, and (once live) Florida state programs.
Is Florida's $8,000 heat pump rebate real?
The program is real but not open yet. Florida's HEAR program — part of the FDACS Florida Energy Saver Program — plans rebates up to $8,000 for qualifying heat pumps and up to $14,000 total per household, limited to households under 150% of area median income. As of July 2026 it is still pending final federal approval and is not accepting applications. Anyone promising that rebate on a sale today is selling something that doesn't exist yet — but you can register on the state portal for launch alerts.
Rebates, tax credits, and incentive programs are offered by third parties (government agencies, utilities, and manufacturers), change frequently, and depend on your eligibility, equipment, and location — amounts and availability are not guaranteed. American Plumbing, Heating & Cooling does not provide tax advice; please confirm current federal or state tax treatment with a qualified tax professional.
